Dhaka: Shakib-ul-Hasan Election Candidacy Confirmed by The ruling party of Bangladesh, The Awami League, has officially declared that Shakib-ul-Hasan, the captain of the cricket team, will be a candidate in the upcoming election.
As per media reports, the Awami League has affirmed Shakib-ul-Hasan’s nomination, and the cricketer is set to participate in the general elections scheduled for January 7 next year. According to local media sources, Shakib-ul-Hasan will be contesting the elections from his native Magura-One constituency, although there has been no announcement regarding his return to cricket.
It’s worth noting that Shakib-ul-Hasan sustained a finger injury during a match against Sri Lanka in the World Cup.
Following a series of two home Test matches against New Zealand, Bangladesh is slated to tour New Zealand. During this period, Bangladesh is scheduled to engage in a 6-match white-ball series from December 11th to 31st.
