India expels Canadian diplomat in Sikh leader killing dispute.

India expels Canadian diplomat due to tensions over Hardeep Singh Nijjar’s killing. India also criticized Canada for expelling one of its diplomats. India strongly denies any role in the activist’s murder in Canada and calls the accusations baseless. This highlights strained relations between the two countries amid calls for an investigation and resolution.

“India’s Ministry of External Affairs stated that the decision is a response to Canadian diplomats’ increasing interference in our domestic affairs and their participation in activities against India. The diplomat involved has been given five days to depart from India.

This development follows Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s assertion of ‘credible allegations’ implicating the Indian government in the assassination of Mr. Nijjar earlier this year. The Canadian citizen was fatally shot outside a Sikh temple in Surrey, British Columbia, on June 18.”

He was a big supporter of the Khalistani separatist group, which wants Sikhs in India, where they are a minority, to have their own country.

Mr. Nijjar was planning a vote in India for Sikhs to become an independent nation when he was killed.

In addition to what Mr. Trudeau said, the Canadian Foreign Minister, Mélanie Joly, mentioned that the leader of Indian intelligence in Canada was sent away because of these claims.

The Indian government said they totally disagreed with the accusations and added, “We are a democratic country that strongly believes in following the law”, but still India expels Canadian diplomat.

“These unproven claims try to divert attention from Khalistani terrorists and extremists who are in Canada and still pose a threat to India’s sovereignty and land.

Canada’s lack of action on this issue has been a worry for a while.

We do not agree with any efforts to link the Indian government to these events.”

Narendra Modi greeted Justin Trudeau at the G20 conference in India a few weeks ago.

The expulsions happened when Canada and India, both part of the G20 group, were not getting along.

They had problems with trade discussions, and Canada canceled a planned business trip to India for this fall as a result India expels Canadian diplomat.

Mr. Trudeau spoke in Parliament and said he discussed the killing with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the G20 meeting last week. He also told Mr. Modi that it would be unacceptable if the Indian government had any part in it and asked for their help with the investigation but India stays on its stubbornness and India expels Canadian diplomat.
