Imran Khan, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), is facing increasing legal challenges.
Recently, a court handed down a sentence of 14 years in jail with hard labor for both him and his wife, Bushra Bibi, in the Toshakhana case.
In addition to the prison term, the judge, Muhammad Bashir, disqualified Imran Khan from holding the position of prime minister for a period of 10 years and imposed a substantial fine of Rs1.573 billion on the couple.
During a previous hearing at Adiala jail, Bushra Bibi provided her statement.
In today’s hearing, Judge Bashir inquired if Imran Khan had a statement to share. However, Khan requested time until his lawyers could join him.
He expressed a sense of being deceived, as he believed he was merely present to mark attendance and not to give a statement.
Furthermore, Khan defended his wife, asserting that she had no involvement in the case and had been unfairly implicated.
