At the forefront, the Canadian claims against India were substantiated by the information provided by the United States.

In September 2023, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau of Canada, along with his cabinet, accused India of engaging in acts of terrorism on Canadian soil. The recent revelations provided by the United States appear to substantiate Canadian claims.

As per reports, the US intelligence agency has disclosed evidence implicating agents of the Indian government in the assassination of Sikh leaders. This confirmation from the American intelligence agency validates the accusations made by Prime Minister Trudeau.

In a statement, Trudeau remarked that investigations into these serious allegations against India have been ongoing since August, conducted in collaboration with American counterparts worldwide. From the outset, Canada has emphasized the need for India to treat this matter with gravity and to cooperate fully with the investigations.

Trudeau went on to express the government’s commitment to ensuring the safety of Canadian citizens. The US intelligence agency, with supporting evidence, has disclosed the involvement of an officer from the Indian Central Reserve Police Force in a plot to assassinate Tunat Singh and other active leaders of Tehreek Khalistan, reportedly deployed by the Modi government in May 2023.

US Secretary of State Anthony Blanken released a statement regarding the alleged plot to assassinate Khalistani leader Pannu, confirming an ongoing investigation with results pending.

John Kirby, the coordinator of strategic communications at the Security Council, emphasized the seriousness of the US stance on the allegations and investigations against India. He underscored the commitment to ensuring that those responsible for these alleged crimes are brought to justice.
