In Peshawar, the interim government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) announced on Tuesday the winter vacation timetable for public and private schools in both plain and hilly regions for the academic term 2023-24.
As per an official statement from the Elementary and Secondary Education Department, educational institutions in plain areas are scheduled to have a winter break from December 23 to 31. Schools in these regions will then reopen on January 1, 2024.
In regions characterized by hills or snowfall, schools are set to be shut from December 23 to February 29, 2024. Following the winter hiatus, educational institutions in these areas are scheduled to resume activities on March 1.
In a distinct notification, the Higher Education, Archives, and Libraries Department of KP declared that universities would be closed from December 23 to 31 in plain areas due to the winter break.
Additionally, it specified that institutions located in hilly areas would undergo winter vacations from December 23 to February 29.
