Special report regarding wheat smuggling submitted to Prime Minister Office.
Islamabad: Following reports on currency and oil smuggling, a comprehensive report on the illicit activities involving sugar, fertilizer, and wheat has been delivered to the Prime Minister’s Secretariat.
Sources have indicated that the report contains information about the smuggling of sugar, fertilizer, and wheat smuggling from Pakistan, including details about the individuals engaged in these activities, both on the smuggling side and within government ranks.
According to sources, the report identifies 592 warehouses involved in wheat smuggling and names 26 individuals as wheat smugglers.

Furthermore, the report reveals that last year, the Intelligence Bureau (IB) submitted 417 reports to relevant departments, resulting in the confiscation of 90,147 metric tons of hoarded and smuggled wheat based on the agency’s intelligence.
The report also highlights the involvement of 259 government officials in assisting smugglers, with officials stationed in provincial governments aiding smugglers and hoarders.
Specifically, the report indicates that 272 government officials in Punjab, 244 in Sindh, 56 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), 15 in Balochistan, and 5 in Islamabad have been identified as accomplices to smugglers.
It is worth noting that a previous report from a sensitive organization had exposed the involvement of 29 politicians in the Iranian oil business.
