As the US dollar became less valuable compared to the Pakistani Rupee, the solar panel price has gone down by a lot.
The price of a solar panel has also dropped from 15,000 to 5,000 rupees.

Solar panel price have gone down significantly in different cities of Pakistan. Over the past two years, Pakistan imported solar panels worth $3.6 billion. This price drop is mainly because the government removed all taxes on solar imports in February of this year.
In Islamabad, for instance, a 550-watt solar panel used to cost 75,000 rupees, but now it’s only 34,000 rupees. Even with the dollar’s value decreasing, many markets continue to offer solar panels at lower prices.
The solar panel industry is changing, and there are different opinions among traders. Malik Asif from the Solar Panels Association believes that the prices are decreasing because of the dollar’s value going down globally, making sustainable energy more affordable.
Yahya Khan, a Solar Panel Dealer, mentioned that they have a stock of 150 panels, and they are adjusting their prices to align with the market rate to benefit customers from the lower costs.
This reduction in solar panel price is making renewable energy more accessible to people and is in line with Pakistan’s green energy goals.
In Multan, the price of a 555-watt solar panel dropped from 70,000 rupees to 35,000 rupees, while in Faisalabad, prices went down by 20%. For example, the 550-watt solar panel that used to cost 40,000 rupees is now available for 32,000 rupees. The 150-watt solar panel is 2,000 rupees cheaper, making it 12,000 rupees.
Quetta has also seen a significant drop in solar panel prices. For instance, the 150-watt solar panel went from 14,000 to 10,000 rupees, the 300-watt solar panel decreased from 23,000 to 17,000 rupees, and the 560-watt solar panel is now 29,000 rupees, down from 35,000 rupees.
