The efforts to curb power theft have proven successful, resulting in the recovery of Rs46.71 billion in a span of three months.

The government’s initiative to combat power theft nationwide is yielding positive results. Between November 19 and 26, a total of Rs3.85 billion has been reclaimed, and 325 individuals have been apprehended. Notably, Punjab saw the arrest of 198 individuals, leading to a recovery of Rs1.86 billion.

Similarly, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa witnessed the arrest of 24 individuals, with a recovery of Rs0.81 billion from those involved in electricity theft. In Sindh, the crackdown resulted in the arrest of 103 people, contributing to a recovery of Rs1 billion.

The period from September to October 2023 witnessed a reduction of Rs12 billion in losses attributed to theft. From September 1 to November 26, a total of 29,299 individuals have been apprehended nationwide, with a remarkable recovery of Rs46.71 billion.

The relevant institutions are resolute in their commitment to sustaining efforts against electricity theft.
