Hundi network involved in mobile phones trade in Karachi exposed. Disguised as a mobile phone trading operation in Karachi, the reference hundi network was apprehended, resulting in the recovery of 3.2 million rupees in Clifton.
The team led by Deputy Director Javed Baloch of the FIA Anti-Corruption Circle seized 3.2 million rupees from Tech Zone, a company engaged in the hundi trade under the facade of mobile phone buying and selling, located within the Zamzamma Mobile Market in Clifton.
During the operation, they also came across invoices related to the illicit importation of mobile phones, valuing over 240 million rupees.
Among the exported items were 14 iPhones of various models, both new and old, along with 2 iPads and 2 smartwatches. The total worth of the exported mobile phones and other items exceeded 3.8 million rupees of mobile phones trade in Karachi.
The FIA has indicated that they will proceed with legal action by filing a case against the company and its owner.
