In Karachi, it has been disclosed that gold, valued at more than one crore rupees, has been stolen from the Lal Shahbaz Qalandar Dargah. The reported theft involved gold offerings amounting to Rs 1 crore 23 lakh 72 thousand 863 within a month. Consequently, Awqaf caretaker minister Umar Soomro has directed the suspension of the dargah’s manager and the initiation of a case.
The spokesperson for the Awqaf and Law Minister revealed that Zubair Baloch, the dargah’s manager, has confessed to the crime during the inquiry process. The overseeing Awqaf Minister stated that Zubair Baloch has been suspended, and the case is being referred to the anti-corruption agency for further investigation and immediate recovery of the stolen items.
The caretaker minister emphasized that inquiries will also be conducted against the managers of all shrines. According to sources, Zubair Baloch was appointed as the manager of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar Dargah by Secretary Manoor Mahesar. Zubair Baloch, who is close to retirement, has held the key to the Nazrana Box for many years.
