Punjab govt to decide on Lahore schools closed and smog measures today.

Punjab’s Caretaker Chief Minister, Mohsin Naqvi, has called for an important meeting to decide that Lahore schools closed due to smog and figure out how to deal with the smog and air pollution in the province, especially in Lahore. They might decide to close schools, markets, factories, and offices in Lahore on Wednesdays.

The meeting will involve provincial ministers, the chief secretary, the police chief, environmental experts, and other concerned officials. They’ll make a final decision after talking to everyone and looking at the smog situation.

After the meeting, the information and environment ministers will tell the media about the choices they’ve made to control smog and confirmation Lahore schools closed.

Last week, there was talk of putting restrictions on Lahore, like what they did with COVID-19. This could mean shutting everything down on Wednesdays, having government offices work with fewer people, and checking things more closely on weekends.

Most of the smog comes from too much traffic in the city, with factories contributing only a small part of the problem. If factories don’t follow the rules, they might face big fines or even get shut down and Lahore Schools closed.

The worst smog days seem to be Monday through Wednesday. The Commissioner, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, said they might ask people to work from home for two months to fight the smog in the Lahore area.
