Lahore. November 24 (APP): All-rounder Imad Wasim retirement from international cricket was announced. 34-year-old Imad Wasim started his eight-year international career in May 2015 against Zimbabwe and in 55 ODIs and 66 T20Is, he took 109 wickets and scored 1472 runs. He was part of the 2017 Champions Trophy winning team. Apart from that, he also represented Pakistan in 2016 and 2021 T20 World Cup and 2019 World Cup.

Imad Wasim says that he is grateful for Pakistan Cricket Board’s support all the time. It is an honor for him to represent Pakistan. Playing in 121 matches is indeed a dream come true. Now it is time to move forward with new coaches and new leadership for whom he wishes the best and that team. We want to see them move forward and achieve success.

Thanks to the Pakistani fans who have always supported him. Now his focus will be on the next phase of his career away from international cricket. Pakistan Cricket Board Management Committee Chairman Zaka Ashraf says that Imad Wasim is a valuable player in Pakistan’s cricket.

His performance in white-ball cricket has been crucial to the team’s success. We respect his decision to retire. Zaka Ashraf says that the Pakistan Cricket Board thanks Imad Wasim for his services to Pakistan cricket and wish him all the best for the future.

On the other hand, explaining the poor performance of the team in the World Cup, Fakhar Zaman has said that “Tried to show the best performance as many opportunities as possible in the World Cup”.

“He says that he wanted to be the best player of the World Cup, tried to show the best performance in the mega event. Expressing his views on the occasion of National T20 Cup in Karachi on Friday, Fakhar Zaman said that I tried to take advantage of every opportunity I got during the World Cup.

I would have made a place, winning or losing is part of cricket. “Aggressive strategy was needed in pursuit of a big target against New Zealand, followed that plan and we were successful, anything can happen in cricket when you have a day,” he said.

Talking about playing for Abbottabad in National T20, Fakhar Zaman said that Abbottabad has a very strong team, if we don’t win the tournament with this team, it means that we are not playing our best cricket. Abbottabad will be one of the favorite teams in this tournament.”
