Electricity Theft investigation results in the detection of 8 crore units of stolen electricity so far. In Islamabad, Secretary of the Power Division, Rashid Langriyal, has announced that the operation against electricity thieves has resulted in the discovery of 8 crore units of stolen electricity.
In a recent Twitter (x) post, Secretary Rashid Langriyal shared data related to stolen electricity, stating that 8 crore units of electricity theft have been uncovered. Additionally, 194 individuals involved in electricity theft have been apprehended.
Electricity Theft Details
Furthermore, Secretary Power reported that fines totaling 35 crore 20 lakh rupees have been imposed thus far.
According to Power Secretary Rashid Langriyal, LESCO and MAPCO are outperforming other companies in the fight against electricity thieves.
It’s important to note that the nationwide crackdown on electricity theft is underway following the directives of the caretaker prime minister.
Previously, Secretary Power Rashid Langriyal stated that the campaign against power theft has commenced, emphasizing that it’s just the beginning and will be rigorously and uncompromisingly pursued.
Langriyal also mentioned that 1 crore 1 million rupees have been recovered in connection with power theft. Furthermore, 21 individuals have been apprehended on charges related to electric theft, and a fine of 16 crore 40 lakh rupees has been imposed.
