Sports adviser Wahab Riaz is set to take on the role of interim chief selector of Pakistan team. Zaka Ashraf has finalized Wahab Riaz’s appointment to this position.

Wahab’s initial task will involve selecting the squad for the upcoming tour of Australia. He will assess the camp in Rawalpindi starting from November 20. The PCB is expected to officially announce Wahab’s appointment as the interim chief selector soon. The confirmation is pending as the advisor is yet to vacate the sports post.

It is worth noting that Babar Azam has resigned from the captaincy of the national team, with Shaan Masood taking on the captaincy for the Test team, and Shaheen Shah Afridi assuming the T20 captaincy.
