Due to the decline in petroleum product prices, the Faisalabad district administration has implemented a reduction in public transport bus fares. As per the official announcement, transportation costs from Faisalabad to various cities, including Lahore, Rawalpindi, Multan, Gujranwala, Jhang, and Toba Tek Singh, have been adjusted.
According to the issued notice, fares for non-AC passenger vehicles have been decreased by 5%, while AC bus fares have seen a 3% reduction. Transport operators have been instructed to prominently display the revised fares both at key locations and within the vehicles.
The administration highlights that these fare adjustments were reached through consensus in discussions with transport operators. Previously, Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi had set a deadline for all deputy commissioners to implement fare reductions by the specified night and directed action against transporters failing to comply.
