“I’m okay,” declares Imran Khan as he declines relocation to Adiala Jail from Attock.

Imran Khan, the Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has declined the proposal to transfer him from Attock Jail to Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi.

According to insider information, Imran Khan communicated to his attorney during a court session concerning the cipher case that he had no intention of relocating to Adiala Jail. He instructed his lawyer, Salman Safdar, to retract their application regarding the transfer of the PTI leader to Adiala. Imran Khan conveyed to his lawyer that he was comfortable remaining in Attock and had no desire for relocation.

During the hearing, Salman Safdar informed his client about the Islamabad High Court’s directive to move him to Adiala Jail, where all under-trial prisoners from Punjab are typically housed. On Monday, the Islamabad High Court had issued an order to transfer PTI Chairman Imran Khan from Attock to Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi.

Chief Justice Aamir Farooq of the IHC commented that it was evident that the former prime minister deserved better accommodations in jail and that his rights should not be violated.

The high court was addressing the matter of relocating Imran Khan from Attock Jail to Adiala Jail. The chief justice inquired why an under-trial prisoner was being held in Attock Jail instead of Adiala, as per the law.

The chief justice added that Imran Khan had been placed in Attock Jail in connection with the Toshakhana criminal case, in which his sentence had been suspended. The court requested a response from the additional attorney general regarding this matter.

The additional Attorney General, Munawar Iqbal, informed the court that when Imran Khan was arrested in the cipher case, the order specified Attock Jail. He emphasized that Imran Khan should receive all the rights entitled to him under jail regulations without any violation.

Later in the day, Imran Khan’s lawyer asserted that he had been transferred to Adiala Jail. Sher Afzal Marwat shared on his social media account that the PTI leader had been accommodated in a room with an attached bathroom and other amenities, in accordance with the prison rules applicable to a former prime minister.

However, another PTI attorney cast doubt on the reports of Imran Khan’s transfer, stating that they could not be confirmed.
