Intense snowfall in Murree and Galiyat, there was a severe traffic jam, and tourists got stuck in their vehicles.

Following a heavy snowfall in Murree and Galiyat, many tourists, families, and children found themselves stuck in vehicles due to severe traffic jams on several roads.

Numerous vehicles got stranded in the exceptionally bad traffic on Murree Expressway and Lower Topa to Sahar Bagla highway after a snowfall of about one and a half feet in Murree and Galiyat.

Tourists, stuck in traffic for several hours during the heavy snowfall, pleaded for emergency measures on Murree Expressway and Srinagar Highway.

The PDMA spokesperson mentioned that rain and snowfall would persist in Murree today, emphasizing the administration’s duty to provide facilities for tourists.

The DC Islamabad reported the closure of entry for more tourists from 17 miles to Murree.

In other news, heavy rains accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms have intensified the cold in many areas of Punjab, including Lahore, Faisalabad, Gujarat, Jhelum, and Mandi Bahauddin.

Several roads were closed due to rain and snowfall in various areas of Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.

The Meteorological Department predicted rain in Islamabad, Punjab, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir, with snowfall expected on mountains.
