There were actually two earthquakes in Nepal, one with a magnitude of 4.6 and the other with a magnitude of 6.2. They happened pretty close to each other, only 25 minutes apart, and were about 5 kilometers deep underground. The first one hit Nepal at about 2:25 p.m., and the second one followed at 2:51 p.m.
People in northern India, including the capital New Delhi, also felt the tremors.
The earthquake had a magnitude of 6.2 and occurred on October 3, 2023, at 2:51:04 IST. It was located in Nepal with a latitude of 29.39 and longitude of 81.23. The depth was 5 kilometers.
