The interim federal health minister has put a ban sugary items in government health facilities, aiming to improve public health. This move is seen as a big step forward in fighting diseases related to sugar consumption.
The Health Ministry issued an official notice, instructing that sugary products should not be served in official meetings or events. The reason behind this decision is that sugary drinks can lead to various diseases, as stated by the Health Minister.
The minister stressed the importance of creating a healthy environment to prevent diseases, highlighting the preventive aspect of the ban. The government is taking steps to prevent both communicable and non-communicable diseases.
To support these efforts, the government has launched a program worth Rs6.8 billion to prevent diabetes, according to Health Minister Dr. Nadeem Jan.
Dr. Jan mentioned that significant reforms have been made in the health sector in a short time. He emphasized the need to protect the health of children and young people from the harmful effects of sugary drinks.
