Hangzhou: Nepal in Asian Games 2023 did something amazing on Wednesday during a T20 cricket match against Mongolia. They scored a massive 314 runs and made the fastest century and fifty.
Nepal in Asian Games made a world record by scoring the most runs ever in T20 cricket with seven wickets still in hand.
Achievements of Nepal in Asian Games
One of Nepal’s players, Kushal Malla, scored a century in just 34 balls. He didn’t get out and scored 137 runs in 50 balls. Another player, Dipendra Singh Airee, got 50 runs in only nine balls.
The team’s captain, Rohit Paudel, scored 61 runs in 27 balls.
They also set a record by winning their first match against Mongolia by a huge difference of 273 runs. Mongolia’s team could only make 41 runs before they were all out in the 14th over of the match.
The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) wrote on their official X account, which used to be called Twitter, “Nepal started their Asian Games journey in an amazing way, winning with a huge 273-run lead over Mongolia. They broke many records, making it an unforgettable day for Nepalese cricket.”
Before Nepal, the Czech Republic had the record for winning by a big difference. They did it in a game against Turkey in 2019, winning by 257 runs.
Also, Afghanistan made a record for scoring the most runs in a T20 match before. In February 2019, the Afghan team scored a huge 278 runs while losing only three wickets in a T20 match against Ireland.
