A 19-year-old guy was heroically saved in California bridge rescue mission. The boy needed help when he got stuck 200 meters (about 700 feet) up in the air on California’s tallest bridge. He was trying a stunt, swinging from underneath the bridge while his friend filmed from above.
Unfortunately, his equipment stopped working, and he couldn’t move. He was hanging about 10 meters (around 30 feet) below the bridge’s walkway. This happened on the Foresthill Bridge in North Auburn, which is high above the American River. His 17-year-old friend had to call 911 for assistance.
Around 25 sheriffs and firefighters rushed to help. They used a rescuer who was lowered down to bring him back up to the bridge. This bridge has been used in movies and ads before.
The Placer County sheriffs want people to know that going on the Foresthill Bridge without permission is against the law. They said this on social media when talking about the rescue.
After they got him safely back, doctors checked the teenager, and he didn’t have any obvious injuries. He didn’t want any medical help, and both teenagers were given citations for trespassing, according to the Placer County Sheriff’s Office.
The Foresthill Bridge is very high, about 222 meters (730 feet) above the North Fork of the American River. It’s located between Foresthill and Auburn in northern California. It’s been in lots of commercials and Hollywood movies, like xXx with Vin Diesel, where a car was driven off the bridge, and his character parachuted into another car below.
