The interim government has reduced the prices of petrol by Rs8 but kept the price of high-speed diesel unchanged.

Late on Monday night, the temporary government led by Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar decided to lower the prices of petrol by Rs8 per liter and keep the cost of high-speed diesel the same for the next two weeks.

According to a notification from the finance ministry, the reduced prices for fuel will be effective starting from midnight tonight.

The ministry mentioned that the caretaker prime minister approved the decision to revise petroleum prices, emphasizing the government’s dedication to easing financial pressures on the public, especially during this crucial interim period.

After the notable decrease, the latest cost of petrol is now Rs259.34 per liter, and for high-speed diesel (HSD), it is Rs276.21 per liter.

Two weeks ago, the government chose to keep the prices steady at Rs267.34 for petrol and Rs276.21 for high-speed diesel.

However, there are reports of a reduction in the price of kerosene oil by Rs2.19.

In an official announcement, the Finance Division mentioned, The government of Pakistan has decided to keep the current prices of petrol and high-speed diesel unchanged for the next two weeks.
