The government established regulations for official flour price following a similar action taken for sugar price.

The Commissioner of Karachi has also taken steps to regulate the official flour price, following a similar move made for sugar.

According to the official notification issued by the Commissioner of Karachi, the wholesale flour price for two and a half ration has been established at Rs 123, the ex-mill rate for fine flour and regular flour is set at Rs 130, and the retail price stands at Rs 148 per kilogram. The price per kilogram of milled flour from certain smaller mills has been raised to Rs 140.

The Commissioner of Karachi has stated that a reduction of five to ten rupees per kilogram in flour prices has been implemented, and strict action will be taken against those who do not comply with the official pricing.

On the contrary, Abdul Rauf Ibrahim, Chairman of the Wholesale Association, argues that with the arrival of imported wheat, the price of wheat has dropped below Rs 100 per kilogram. He believes that the price of flour should have been Rs 115, and fine flour should have been priced at Rs 120 per kilogram, instead of the current range of Rs 130 to 140 per kilogram.
