Approval of salary increment of government employees instead of free electricity.

The Energy Committee of the Cabinet has agreed to stop giving free electricity to electricity company officers and, instead, provide them with a monthly payment.

The federal government has made a decision not to provide free electricity to electricity company officers. As per sources from the Energy Committee, these officers will receive cash in place of free electricity.

During a meeting of the Energy Committee of the Federal Cabinet, chaired by Energy Minister Muhammad Ali, the decision to replace free electricity with a monetary allowance for power company officers was approved. This meeting also postponed the approval of a subsidized electricity package for industrial consumers and greenlit the summary for implementing the TAPI project from the petroleum division.

As per these sources, the Federal Cabinet’s Energy Committee decided that officers ranging from grades 17 to 21 will receive a monetary allowance instead of free electricity units. They will be given sums of money instead. Grade 21 officers will receive 21,996 rupees in place of units.

For grade 19 officers in electricity companies, they will get 37,594 rupees instead of 880 free units, while grade 20 officers will receive 46,992 rupees instead of 1,100 units of electricity, and grade 21 officers will get 55,536 rupees in lieu of 1,300 units.

Grade 17 officers from production companies will be given 24,570 rupees, and grade 18 officers will receive 26,460 rupees instead of 700 free units. Grade 19 officers will have 42,720 rupees allocated for their electricity bills, and grade 20 employees will receive 46,992 rupees.

Furthermore, grade 20 officers in generation companies will get 46,992 rupees, and grade 21 officers in generation companies will receive 55,536 rupees to cover their electricity bills.

It’s important to note that free electricity worth billions of rupees is provided to parliamentarians, government officials, and electricity company officers throughout the country.
