Following the government’s decision, the positive outcomes of actions against electricity theft are becoming evident nationwide.
The crackdown on electricity theft is ongoing, and recent statistics from December 31 to January 8 show a collection of 2.138 billion rupees across the country, along with the arrest of 199 individuals.
Specifically, 1.083 billion rupees have been recovered in Islamabad, Lahore, Faisalabad, and Multan, leading to the arrest of 95 people. Additionally, 0.06 billion rupees have been reclaimed in Gujranwala.
From Peshawar, 0.44 billion rupees were retrieved, leading to the arrest of 67 individuals. In the newly merged districts, 0.026 billion rupees were recovered.
In Hyderabad and Sukkur combined, 37 people were apprehended, and a sum of 0.451 billion rupees was collected. Additionally, 0.071 billion rupees were regained in Quetta.
Since September 1, the total received amount is 63.679 billion rupees, with 37,308 individuals arrested.
Government institutions are committed to persisting in the effort to combat electricity theft.
