The cost of petrol went up significantly starting from February 1st.

The temporary government has raised the cost of petrol by Rs 13.55 per liter starting from February 1, 2024.

As per the notice released on Wednesday, petrol now costs Rs 272.89 per liter, marking an increase of Rs 13.55. Diesel prices have also gone up by Rs 2.75 per liter, reaching Rs 278.96 per liter. On the other hand, the price of kerosene has slightly decreased by 24 paisa per liter.

The new rate for light diesel oil is now Rs 166.86 per liter, following an increase of Rs 2.3 per liter.

Before this, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) had declared a rise in LPG prices. According to the latest notice from OGRA, the cost of LPG per kilogram has gone up by Rs 17, reaching Rs 257.60 per kilogram.

With this change, the new cost for a household LPG cylinder will be Rs 3,400. These updated prices will be in effect for February 2024.

These approved price adjustments are happening because of the changing global oil prices and economic factors. People and businesses are preparing for the impact of these increases, which are expected to influence transportation expenses and daily costs.
