In the first nine months of 2023, more than 630,000 people left Pakistan, their homeland to find better job opportunities in other countries.
Data from the Bureau of Immigration and Overseas Employment revealed that, up until September, 633,108 Pakistanis had signed up for jobs in foreign countries during the first nine months of this year.
Details of People Left Pakistan
Up to July, 540,282 Pakistanis had already left the country. This means that in September alone, more than 92,000 Pakistanis departed in search of work.
The statistics indicate that among those who left, 275,433 were laborers, while 141,282 worked as drivers. Additionally, 6,351 were engineers, 5,876 were accountants, 2,580 were doctors, and 1,194 were teachers.
Out of those who left, 17,058 had high levels of education, 35,414 possessed high skills, 232,933 were skilled workers, 65,922 were semi-skilled, and the majority, 281,781, were considered unskilled.
In terms of destination, 302,634 people left Pakistan and went to Saudi Arabia, 173,561 to the United Arab Emirates, 44,567 to Oman, and 44,777 went to Qatar.
