The Lahore High Court made a decision to stop cars that create smoky air and provide bicycles to government workers to fight smog.
Justice Shahid Karim led the hearing about smog issues. Commissioner Muhammad Ali Randhawa and others were present in the court during this hearing.
The court told the government to stop smoky vehicles and told government workers to use bicycles right away.
They also said that the government should support organizations trying to reduce pollution. If the government follows these orders for four months, we can get rid of smog.
The commissioner promised to visit factories that cause pollution, like those in Kasur. He also said that people should plant trees with their family’s name, and they shouldn’t dig roads without permission.
The Lahore High Court said that when they fine factories for pollution, environmental officers often reduce the fines. They want factories to be fined first, and if they don’t change, they should be shut down. They also said the Deputy Commissioner of Lahore should do more and not just stay in the office.
The Lahore High Court also talked about their concerns regarding the Railway Golf Club and the need for better parking around the courts.
