Microsoft is buying the company that makes ‘Call of Duty’ and ‘Candy Crush,’ Activision Blizzard, in a big $69 billion deal. It got the okay from British regulators after some concerns.
The regulators worried that Microsoft might have too much power in cloud gaming. This is where you play games on the internet without needing a powerful device.
But now, the regulators say the deal of Activision Blizzard is okay, as long as Microsoft doesn’t control the cloud gaming part of Activision. That part will go to Ubisoft for 15 years.
This makes sure that Microsoft doesn’t have too much control and that prices stay fair, and we get good services and choices.
The head of the regulators said it took too long for Microsoft to get this deal done, and they need to be faster.
Some people also wondered if the rules for checking big deals in the UK were too strict, but the concerns about only having Activision games on Xbox were fixed.
The European Union and the United States also said the deal is okay, and it’s one of the biggest in the tech world recently.
