Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner have reached an interim custody arrangement where their two daughters will divide their time between two different countries.
In a joint statement released on Tuesday, the couple shared, “Following a productive and successful mediation, we have come to an agreement that entails our children splitting their time evenly between loving homes in both the United States and the United Kingdom. We eagerly anticipate being excellent co-parents.”
Sophie Turner Divorce
In September, Joe Jonas initiated divorce proceedings against Sophie Turner. Several weeks later, Turner initiated a lawsuit against the Jonas Brothers singer, seeking the return of their two children to London, alleging the “wrongful retention” of the children “in New York City, away from their established residence in England.”
The “Game of Thrones” actress argued in her legal petition that their children, born in 2020 and 2022, are fully immersed in and integrated into the everyday and cultural life in England.
According to the legal petition, the couple had plans to acquire a new residence in the UK, for which they were in advanced contract negotiations and anticipated closing on the property in December.
Joe Jonas’s spokesperson stated at the time that “Joe is seeking shared parenting with the children, ensuring that they are raised by both their mother and father, and he is, of course, amenable to the idea of the children being raised in both the US and the UK.”
Court documents filed in New York revealed that Turner and Jonas had previously arrived at a different temporary arrangement to maintain their children’s residence within the United States.
More recently, Sophie Turner has been seen spending time with Taylor Swift, while Joe Jonas has been on tour with The Jonas Brothers.
