In Lahore, they’re thinking about some strong actions to reduce the smog in Punjab. The main reason for the smog is the heavy traffic in Lahore, while factories contribute only a small part (7%) to the problem.

To tackle this, there’s a suggestion to have a lockdown and block some activities. It’s most smoggy on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, so they might have a complete shutdown on Wednesdays. This means they could close markets, schools, colleges, and factories on that day.

According to sources, half of the employees will work in government offices on Wednesday. While on Saturday and Sunday, like the Corona lockdown, it has been proposed to close down the factories operating in the city and impose heavy fines.
