Imran Khan’s lawyer, Salman Safdar, said that today, Imran Khan insisted on being treated like regular prisoners.

After the hearing, his lawyer, Salman Safdar, talked to the media and expressed concerns about the hurried nature of the trial. He mentioned that Imran Khan protested because the room provided to him in jail was uncomfortable and cramped. He believed that the case should be held as an open court trial to ensure public awareness. Imran Khan has appeared in court for over 100 cases in the past year, and Salman Safdar argued that it was the responsibility of those who put him in jail to bring him to court. He stressed that holding the trial in a closed room in jail was not appropriate, and the case should be conducted openly.
The PTI lawyer stated that the decision regarding this matter rests with the Islamabad High Court and emphasized this during the court session.
Sher Afzal Marwat, another lawyer representing PTI, expressed dissatisfaction with the way Imran Khan and Shah Mahmood Qureshi were presented in a cage-like area during the hearing, even comparing it to how terrorists are presented.
He mentioned that during the hearing, there was tension, and heated words were exchanged. The judge did not make a decision regarding Shah Mahmood Qureshi and ordered the signing of the order sheet without waiting for the Islamabad High Court’s decision. Imran was told to sign the order sheet.
The PTI lawyer further pointed out that the judge appeared confrontational during the hearing, which led to some tense moments in the courtroom.
