The World Bank has given suggestions to Pakistan. They propose to tax people who earn Rs 50,000 or less.
According to the World Bank, those making five lakh rupees per month should pay a 35 percent tax. They also suggest that the federal government should not spend money on things that are the responsibility of the provinces.
World Bank views on Pakistan
The they thinks that Pakistan should review the Seventh National Finance Commission and make financial plans at both federal and provincial levels. They recommend bringing vendors into the tax system and reducing the limit for tax-free income.
Furthermore, the Bank advises Pakistan to simplify personal income tax rules and tax owners of 12.5 acres of agricultural land.
Lastly, they suggest ending development projects that didn’t have proper planning and evaluation.
