Sea of Thieves is at last including private servers.

Sea of Thieves Season 10 gives us a sneak peek of something new called Safer Seas, which are private servers. Since Sea of Thieves first came out, pirates have been battling each other for the game’s treasures. But now, there’s a different way to play that’s more focused on adventures.

The folks at Rare have been working hard to make Sea of Thieves better since it first launched. They’ve made lots of important updates. Starting in 2021, the game began to have seasons, with new stuff added every few months.

Sea of Thieves Season 9

Season 9 brought cool rewards, new adventures for Pirate Legends, improved worlds, and made things easier for players. Rare has told us that Season 10 of Sea of Thieves will have some changes that make the game even better. One of those changes is the introduction of private servers, which might be safer for players who are just starting out.

Season 10 of Sea of Thieves is scheduled to start on October 19. Just like the previous seasons, it will have new things like outfits, exciting adventures, and fixes to make the game smoother.

But the private servers, known as Safer Seas, won’t be available until December. In Safer Seas, players can team up with up to three other pirates. They can learn how the game works, tackle Sea of Thieves Tall Tales, and complete quests. If players decide to switch to the shared world, they can take their gold and reputation with them, but they’ll earn them at a slower rate in Safer Seas, about 30% slower.

Creative Director Mike Chapman from Sea of Thieves has told us that players have been asking for private servers right from the start.

Now, with the Safer Seas, the game will change a bit. It won’t be exactly the same as the main shared world.

In the High Seas, you can still be a Sea of Thieves Captain or Pirate Legend, and you can join the Athena’s Fortunate and Reaper’s Bones factions.

This is a way for new players to learn how to play the game without having to fight other players. It can also be useful for players who want to do certain things without getting into big battles with other pirates.

Even though Safer Seas is a big deal in Season 10, Rare wants to make sure the shared world is still the main focus.

While we know Safer Seas will come in December, we don’t have the exact date yet.
