Hardeep Singh Nijjar, the leader of the Khalistan Tiger Force (KTF), was killed in June near a Sikh temple in Surrey, Canada. As a result of these accusations and the ongoing investigation, both India and Canada expelled each other’s senior diplomats.

Prime Minister Trudeau called on the Indian government to cooperate in uncovering the truth and ensuring justice and accountability in the matter during his remarks at the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

Trudeau said that his government doesn’t want to create trouble or provoke anyone. When asked why other countries haven’t reacted strongly to his allegations, he explained that Western nations, led by the United States, have been trying to build a good relationship with India because it’s a big and important democracy, especially with concerns about China.

He made it clear that even though Canada wants to work with India, they are very firm about following the law and protecting Canadians. Trudeau asked the Indian government to assist in ensuring the safety of Canadians and to take the matter seriously to deliver justice.

Trudeau mentioned that he had a direct and honest conversation with PM Modi about his concerns. He also emphasized that Canada has a fair legal system, and they want India to cooperate in finding the truth in this case.
