In an effort to address Lahore traffic issues, Lahore has initiated another major project. This project involves the construction of a two-lane, two-way underpass at Khalid Butt Chowk, measuring 540 meters in length and 15.8 meters in width.
CM Punjab statement on Lahore Traffic Issues
During a recent visit, the interim Chief Minister of Punjab, Mohsin Raza Naqvi, urged the swift completion of the project. He emphasized the importance of effective traffic management throughout the construction process and the need to inform citizens about alternative traffic routes. The estimated cost of the project is 2.038 billion rupees.
In addition to the Chief Minister, Provincial Ministers Ali Nasir and Amir Mir, the contractor, Chief Engineer of the Lahore Development Authority (LDA), and other relevant officials were present.
This project is expected to directly benefit over 180,000 vehicles daily. The LDA is committed to finishing the project by December 6, and as a result, traffic at Butt Chowk has been temporarily rerouted with the assistance of the traffic police.
