In Peshawar, the Election Commission has asked the Peshawar High Court to reconsider its decision on PTI’s election symbol.
The Commission’s lawyer filed two separate requests in the Peshawar High Court. One is about PTI’s internal elections and symbol, where the Election Commission wants the court to review the decision. Additionally, another request was made for the court to create a special group of judges to handle the case during the holidays.
It’s important to know that the Election Commission canceled Tehreek-e-Insaf’s internal election, claiming it went against the constitution. This led to PTI losing its bat symbol. However, Tehreek-e-Insaf challenged this decision in the Peshawar High Court.
The Peshawar High Court temporarily stopped PTI’s internal elections and the Commission’s decision on symbols. Tehreek-e-Insaf was reinstated without symbols. The court stated that the first group of judges, formed after the holiday break, will continue to hear the case.
