The Lahore High Court instructs the Punjab government, described as ‘incompetent,’ to release a notification regarding work-from-home arrangements.

On Friday, Justice Shahid Karim of the Lahore High Court directed the district public prosecutor in Lahore to issue a two-day work-from-home notification.

The court, during hearings addressing petitions related to smog alleviation, instructed the public prosecutor to release the notification within a week.

Justice Shahid Karim expressed dissatisfaction, noting that despite the court’s order to close schools on Saturdays, the caretaker Punjab government had not complied.

The justice urged the Lahore deputy commissioner’s council to address the issue promptly, directing them to issue a notification for weekend work-from-home within the next week of business days.

Additionally, Justice Shahid Karim commented on the Punjab government, accusing it of targeting the trader community to divert attention from its perceived incompetence.
