The caretaker government is fully committed to supporting upcoming elections with financial, administrative, and security assistance under favorable conditions.

Caretaker Federal Minister for Information, Broadcasting, and Parliamentary Affairs, Murtaza Solangi, emphasized the favorable conditions for upcoming elections in the country. He addressed concerns about rumors, affirming the Caretaker Government’s commitment to holding elections. He assured that the government would fulfill its responsibilities, providing financial, administrative, and security support to the Election Commission.

Highlighting the government’s track record, he mentioned the earlier skepticism about the election’s feasibility, which was dispelled when the election date was officially announced. Responding to inquiries, the caretaker minister clarified the continuity of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), ensuring its legal and constitutional protection. He underscored the government’s commitment to improving the country’s condition for the next elected government.

Referring to the constitution’s preamble, Solangi stressed the significance of elected representatives in running the country. He mentioned the Election Commission’s release of the final list and the Chief Election Commissioner’s assurance of a 54-day election campaign period under the Election Act 2017. Solangi dismissed any possibility of postponing the elections, emphasizing the normalcy of the country’s situation.

Addressing concerns about a level playing field, the caretaker federal information minister acknowledged the right of political parties to complain if they face abuse. He highlighted the openness of courts, a free media, and available legal channels for such complaints. Emphasizing the caretaker government’s impartiality, he mentioned that no minister or close relative could contest elections, asserting their neutrality in the electoral race.

Solangi challenged the notion of widespread election rigging in a country with a vast population, emphasizing that the people would be informed. He pointed to the European Union’s final report on the 2018 elections, which detailed irregularities and provided transparency on the process.
